QUARTZ, CERAMIC OR GLASS?
They all refer to the same type of product. Quartz/ceramic/glass coating are terms to
name a SiO2 (silicone dioxide) based protective coating. They may have different
formulations or features, but basically they all become as thin, transparent, protective layer.
All the rest is pure marketing.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS
OF HAVING A CERAMIC COATINGS?
It's not all about the looks! Of course, a well prepared and ceramic coated car looks amazing, as Gyeon coatings are very glossy and enhance the intensity of the paint. But you will notice most benefits on a daily basis. The car will get dirty much slower, the usual maintenance wash will become less frequent. Your car will feel slick and will collect less dust and pollen. Paint will not oxidise, brake dust won't adhere to rims as much as before. Your paint will remain glossy as new for years.
DO GYEON COATINGS HAVE
9H HARDNESS?
Yes, just like every high-quality ceramic coating. But is that important? Not really. The important qualities of a ceramic coating are its enormous UV & chemical resistance, structural integrity and most of all - slickness. This is the key feature that helps maintain a vehicle scratch-free.
WILL A COATING ALWAYS BEAD AS DAY ONE?
No. Beading is spectacular, although it's the secondary quality of a ceramic coating. Fact: a coating might be even more self-cleaning being hydrophilic than hydrophobic. The hydrophobicity is a result of very high surface tension a coating generates. It will diminish with time due to contamination, but has no connection with the level of protection. WHAT A CERAMIC
COATING WON'T DO?
It will not protect your car against scratches, swirls or scuffs, unless maintained correctly. It won't protect you against stone chips or any other mechanical damage. A ceramic coating is not paint protection film. It is a fantastic tool for a conscious user to help maintain a vehicle in perfect condition with great use, but it will not solve all issues!
